LIMITS OF LIABILITY

The European Audiovisual Observatory ("Observatory") was established within the legal and institutional framework of the Council of Europe on the basis of an enlarged partial agreement and is therefore committed to the aims and subject to the rules of the Council of Europe.

The LUMIERE database was created by the Observatory in co-operation with national information sources and the European Community MEDIA Programme. The Observatory has taken maximum care to verify the accuracy, quality and validity of the information contained in the LUMIERE database. In particular, the sources of information it has selected are generally considered trustworthy by experts in the respective countries. However, the Observatory, whose tasks do not include monitoring ticket sales in its member states, is unable to verify or vouch fully for the accuracy of the information provided by the various sources used.

For this reason, the Observatory, its members, the partner organisations involved and the Council of Europe offer no guarantees of any kind and accept no liability for any damages that may result from use of the database. The user alone is responsible for evaluating the accuracy, exhaustiveness, usefulness and quality of any opinion, advice, service or other information it may contain. With regard to the accuracy of the information provided by the various sources, users should refer to the explanations of the methods used by each country.

The data base LUMIERE provides a systematic compilation of available data on admissions of the films released in European cinemas since 1996. The data base is the result of the collaboration between the European Audiovisual Observatory and the various specialised national sources as well as the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
